Gilbert Stouvenot, Chef Instructor
Chef Gilbert Stouvenot was fourteen years old when he started his apprenticeship in Classic French cooking at the famous Hotel Maison Rouge in Strasbourg, France and went on to extern at the Ecole Hotellière. Chef Stouvenot moved to the United States in 1964 and held various positions as working chef and executive chef in New Jersey and New York before relocating to Naples, Florida, to take over as Chef owner of the famous Strawberry Place restaurant. After some traveling in Tahiti and Hawaii with the prestigious Amfac management Company, he moved to Las Vegas and held various positions in different casinos. Chef Stouvenot was coaxed out of retirement by Chef Lauer in order to pass on the French cooking techniques he has learned in his over fifty years in the food industry. For the last ten years he has been an active member of the Las Vegas SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). In his spare time, he does counseling for a variety of small business in Las Vegas.
